    I would absolutely recommend Hayden Fry if you need an old-school opinion. Funny as hell, too.

    I'll second Mike Leach at Tx Tech. Only D-I football coach I know who gives his cell phone number to reporters and always returns calls. And Leach usually has a remarkably, uh, unique perspective about, well, everything. So you're liable to get some pretty interesting quotes. If you're trying to reach him for the first time, go through their SID, Chris Cook, who's a good guy, too.

    I love that any head coach, regardless of his relevance to the topic you're writing about, will bolster the story. Nothing like picking a source based on how easy they are to get in touch with ... outstanding.

    I cannot confirm this independently, but it's my understanding Jim Leavitt at South Florida is accessible and good to deal with.
