No way that's real, but I enjoyed it still. Some of the replies are hilarious.

The cat lost in the negative space is pretty sharp.

For the record, David Thorne is they guy who attempted to pay his overdue account with the drawing of a spider. More hilarity ensues:

If you click on the little link that says 'I am sad about something' you get this:

    That was fantastic.
Each poster was better than the previous one, though one of my favorites was when he put the cuter cat in the picture and suggested she might "get a better cat" out of it.

As someone who designs a bit on the side, I loved this. On of my clients a few weeks back wanted me to produce a poster to hype their church festival. Fine. I drove up to the church to pick up a disk they said they had from last year's event. Mistake.

I got a disk with 350 pics on it, about a third of which were out of focus. The rest, it looked like the photog told everyone "Okay, everybody! Stop what you're doing, hold up your beers and make faces for the camera!" Ugh.

So, I photoshop the hell out of a couple shots just so they could be used, ginned up a nice poster featuring a kid on a ride, banners flying and some folks enjoying festival food. A real case of producing a silk purse from a sow's ear.

The response I got from this gratis piece of work?

"Eh, can we put some different pennant flags in there? Ours aren't that color."

F-and-U, pal. So, yeah... designers can be a bit titchy. For good reason.

Personally, I loved the "lost" poster.

  12. Beers at a church festival? Southern baptist, huh? :)
