    Sorry the kid's dead, but the UM practice field is not in a bad part of town. When this all comes out, hope the kid didn't have anything to do with his own demise. Somehow, this stuff keeps happening to UM kids. They had several players involved in a shooting before the season. A freshman, Willie Cooper, got shot in the ass. Serious.

    The reports that this kid was shot "shortly after leaving the practice field" are completely irresponsible and make it sound like it happened at the athletic department facilities when, in fact it didn't even happen in Coral Gables. This happened at an apartment complex four miles from campus and it more than likely had nothing to do with the fact he played at the University of Miami.

    I'm not Miami fanboy by any stretch of the imagination but suck ass reporting like that really pisses me off.

    And whoever raised the "lack of institutional control" issue earlier in this thread is a complete fucking idiot.
