Drop everything and watch: Movies

Yeah -- another movie thread. Well, not getting much done this afternoon thanks to the local station that's airing "In the Line of Fire." Eastwood, Malkovich, Rene Russo. For me, this is one of those movies that, when it's on, I drop everything I'm doing to watch. It's so damned good, even in the edited-for-TV version. Another for me is "Final Countdown," in which an aircraft carrier goes through a loophole in time to Dec. 6, 1941 in the Pacific. A little cheesy, but I drop everything and watch.

So, SportsJournalists.commers, what are your "drop everything" movies?

    Bloodsport.

    But not because it's good.

I can never remember the name of that damn movie, but I always watch it when it's on TV.

malkovich was insanely good. and i'd watch russo if she was reading a phone book.

my list begins with "the godfather, I or II."

also, "the deer hunter," "butch cassidy and the sundance kid," "the sting," and anything from early woody allen through "annie hall."

but the list probably runs up to 100, so i do plenty of channel-surfing.
and will agree with many that end up listed on this thread.

    What, Bob, no "Office Space?"

And I have to add "Tombstone," "Major League," "The Princess Bride" and "Final Shot: The Hank Gathers Story" to my list.

Hell, I never see it on. But yeah I'd have to throw that one in there, too. It's late and I'm tired. Same with Raiders...

    Oh, and porn.
