Dreamgirls -- anyone else have this experience?

    No, I've listened to both versions of the song-- Holliday's more than Hudson's just because of longevity... it's Hudson's.

    While they are great, Holliday's performances are very frightening. Am I the only one?

    Anyway, Hudson's performance was more vulnerable, more desperate, from her character's standpoint, and much less showy. I prefer hers.

    I disliked "Dreamgirls." Bordered on loathed. No joy, no passion. No grit. No real pain. No great performances. And the songs? Well - they <i> suck </i>. That's a horrible word, I know, but they do.

    Hell, "Rent" was better.

    Frightening might not be the right word... intensely desperate, more so. But that's the character.
