Beating the Jets wasn't enough -- Patriots had to troll them too.

Agree with this. A buddy at NFL Network swears Ryan will be a head coach somewhere next season, that he's very well-respected around the league and just needs to get away from New York and the Jets.

More silliness with the NFL's priorities on what should and shouldn't be tolerated:

Broncos LB Lamin Barrow: $8,268 fine for throwing a punch at a Jets player and getting ejected from the game.

Broncos DT Terrance Knighton: $11,025 fine for unsportsmanlike behavior for saying the N-word to a Jets player.

Better still: Knighton got a larger fine for his misdeed than Julius Thomas got for his chop block ($8,268).

I don't approve of the N-word usage, but that's worth a larger fine than penalties that get a player ejected or result in injury to another player?

Thomas' chop block should have been in the $25-$50K range. That was brutal.

Burfict is a complete douchebag. If Brandon Meriweather is the dirtiest player in the league, Burfict is up there as well.

Haven't we been through this? The fines, I believe, are not random but rather spelled out in the CBA. If it was a first offense for Julius Thomas and a second offense for Terrence Knighton, then there you go. That explains the difference. Same with some of the other discrepancies.

Read on Deadspin today that the Jets are the first team since 1940 to rush for 200+ yards, possess the ball for 40 minutes, not commit a turnover and still lose.

Yeah, but a $10K fine for wearing different headphones?

Agreed, but I'm guessing the guys who endorse beats (Kaepernick, Sherman...) were warned not to wear them. The fine is likely for willfully disobeying the rule.

I agree it's stupid, but if Bose paid some ungodly amount to be the official headphones of the NFL, then that's the only way the league can try to prevent people from wearing the competitor on TV.

I covered a team where a SID would hold a player's Nike hat during press conferences because he wasn't allowed to wear it because the league at the time had a deal with Reebok.

He could use a sweet foot fetish video right about now to take the focus off the 6-game losing streak.

Except they didn't rush for 200 yards.

    also Geno threw a pick.

edit: should've gone to yahoo or nfl.com, not sure why the old boxscore came up when searching on google.

    That's true. On Oct. 20, 2013, they didn't rush for 200 yards.

    Last night they did, though.

Are the Falcons done if they get beat? They are 2-4 and sliding badly.
