what's funny is people getting up in arms about the tweet and then being surprised when a lot of people think they're being babies. Also funny: your HOF threads.

So instead of asking a question and opening up a perfectly fine conversation, you built up in your mind a scenario in which she would overreact and think you're a racist creep.

You're at the gym. It's a friendly place. Have a conversation and move on. Your own inhibitions got in the way there.

Typically the person who posts the thread is considered to be the one "up in arms" about the issue.

I don't see "a lot of people" thinking we are babies. At least not here. I don't know what alt-right radio and websites make up your day.

Yeah, the guy who voted for Obama and Clinton spends all day on Breitbart....

Let's ignore the opinions of Cornbread Maxwell. We got @LongTimeListener and @MisterCreosote here to tell us what's racist and appropriate.

Is the gym a “friendly” place?

Regulars that train at the same time get to know each other, at least enough to say hello. But, despite the Olivia Newton-John movies, and New York Times trend pieces of the 1990’s (gym’s are the new singles’ bars!), most people at the gym aren’t looking to strike up a conversation.

If an attractive woman interrupts your pull-up set to ask you a question, are you going to mind?
