Dolphins worst NFL team ever?

We were talking about it at halftime today, and then AP referenced it in its lead today.

I think, given the circumstances and how far they've fallen, and how they seem to have quit playing, you can make a good case. Expansion Bucs are one thing; this is entirely different.

Basically, they have nobody, and their best defensive players are near the end.

    Not even close.

    Six 3 -point losses.

    A non-starter.

I agree with Simon. Bad, yes, but also very unlucky. Those expansion Bucs teams were fucking abysmal.

but they are getting worse--much worse--as the season goes on, and seem doomed for 0-16, a "feat" no one has accomplished.

Sorry but if they get there...to finish 0-16 in this era was unimaginable before this season.

The Bucs might have been worse, but they had an excuse. This is much, much more embarrassing. So yeah. All things considered, they might be the worst team ever.

I think the last line of the current AP gamer tells the story quite well.

"On Miami's next three possessions, Lemon threw two interceptions, including one picked off by Donte Whitner after the quarterback attempted a play-action fake with no one in his backfield."

They are losing by only 11 points a game.

    Non-starter.

They have lost 13 games in a row.

    Starter.

    Typical dim-bulb contribution from Isiah.

Didn't Tebow get a lot of love for a play-fake to himself?

This isn't Little League. The dolphins don't get credit for coming close.

You lose 13 games as a non-expansion team in this day and age and I don't care if it's by an average of one pt per defeat, 11 pts per defeat or 111 pts per defeat. you suck. And if you end up 0-16, you are among the very, very short list--as in, the list goes two-deep--of worst teams of all-time.

Here's your historical baseline. The Dolphins 2007 certainly belong in the discussion.

well... there is ZERO point for a thread if the opinion is based purely on a team going 16-0.

What is the point of this thread then?

So you are going on the record that the 1972 Dolphins are the greatest team ever?
