Doing video, what do I need

To pick up on this, I use an 18-140 lens on my D7100 and haven't found myself needing more zoom when doing video.
We had a discussion in the office yesterday about doing more video and the boss seems willing to spring for a camcorder, like a couple of the Canons mentioned in this thread. Nikon doesn't do camcorders, is that correct?

Nope. Canon has a couple, but Sony and JVC seem to be the more frequently used pure video cameras.
