Does journalism have too many rich kids?

    This is dead on. Politics, other media jobs. Professional sports jobs too. I'm sure Arthur Smith struggled working his way up to the Titans OC gig. How many assistants do you know who survive three coaching changes to remain in the same city? Yes, he's a good coach (esp. after last night) but it probably didn't hurt that his dad owns FedEx.

    For just that reason, I think over the last ten years - under lots of pressure - many unpaid internships at the flagship NY media companies became paid internships.
