Well-said. It's sad that it's come to that, but unless ESPN runs with the coverage of any of these "scandals" there will be no public outcry. Since nothing compares to Penn State, the public's interest in stuff like this is very low.

The NCAA won't go easy on UNC because they had an issue with the AFAM department. They'll go easy on them because they're UNC.

His undefeated team is chock full of freshmen. He's a GREAT coach! whose team will lose to Wisconsin in the title game.

Clearly Syracuse and the state of New York should sue the NCAA until they get their wins and scholarships back. Worked once already.

Duke. That's who they lose to.

So, it seems a given that school lackeys complete coursework for players, soup to nuts.
Syracuse's Academic Fraud Skipped The Middleman

*THIS* is why 93Devil thinks kids should be in college? So they can have other people do all their coursework?

Kentucky isn't playing Duke in the second round, and that's where the Devils top out these days.

The NCAA better hit UNC far more seriously for its own good. It ain't just Syracuse that would be infuriated if they don't, EVERY program that's ever been nailed for more petty stuff is watching how they handle UNC with baited breath, as it's the case that involves the toxic combination of 1) the program perhaps most perceived as the longtime beneficiary of favoritism, and 2) the most jawdroppingly egregious and audacious academic fraud we've ever seen.

The perception of the NCAA going light on UNC might just be the final tear severing whatever shred of credibility it has left.

Didn't Syracuse self-impose some of the penalties already? The only think kind of harsh here is the three scholarships per years.

I love language and the "Failure to Monitor" is one of my favorites.

What it really means is: "Allowed athletic staff, school to cheat at will."

    How many wins were vacated?

He's still in the Hall of Fame, still has his contract and I bet he still gets paid for the 9 games he's suspended.

Vince McMahon would be a better NCAA comssioner

108 wins, dropping him from 2nd to 6th.

Getting fired and spending more time at home wouldn't be the worst thing for Mr. 98-teams-in-the-tournament.
