Does anyone here own a juicer?

I do those with a knife.

It takes about 10 minutes, but we have watermelon chunks in a huge bowl in the fridge all week. I mean a huge, deep bowl. Everytime you open the fridge you have watermelon at your fingertips.

A girl I dated once also showed my that plucking the grapes off the stem after you have bought them in the store and keeping in a bowl in the fridge is well worth the time.

Oh, and your kid will house the watermelon all week.

  3. my wife bought the jack lalane juicer a few years ago and we've never used it, it's still in the box. (the only time she's succumbed to an infomercial. she was pregnant and the hormones must have got to her. lalane and his wife -- "they were so cute together," she said.)

    make an offer.

every so often i'll say to her, "when are you going to make me some juice?"

The commercial machines are unbelievable. I've seen 'em at shows, but haven't bought one yet.

My girlfriend has recently become obsessed with all things healthy, and I've been thinking about buying one since I can get dealer pricing, and it will be easier to sell them if i have some experience with them.

    This one is great: http://www.juicernet.com/pages/vitamat-power-juicer.php

Someone told me there was one of the thousand dollar ones where you could throw an unpeeled orange in and it would just turn into perfect orange juice within seconds... I'd have to see that to believe it...

    A machine like this:

will slice the fruit in half and then juice it. They have hoppers that you can load with fruit so you can just push a button and it will process enough oranges (or whatever) to pour one glass.

They're becoming more popular. The one place I go to for brunch has one, and I've installed espresso machines at a couple of new places that also had expensive juicers. For a restaurant to do it right, they need one for citrus, one for berries, pulp fruits & root vegetables, and one for wheat grass.

They're expensive and take up a lot of room, but you can charge a lot for the drinks.

All fruit smoothies are also trending.

These folks have four locations locally, and they have an incredible menu of fruit smoothies:

This is the menu for one of the joints where I just installed an espresso machine:

They're getting anywhere from $3.50 to $6.50 for a drink.

They're breakfast, lunch & dinner, so they can also use their fresh juices in cocktails.

Yeah. Those commercial models are awe-inspiring. Here's the current object of juice lust among twin gear macerator devotees:

    Zoom.

There's a lot to learn about juicing all the way around; machines; fruits; vegetables; etc. - but the juicer repair business would seem like a very smart adjunct for you.

I'll say again though, the Hamilton Beach I posted upthread for $68 at Amazon is a killer deal for anyone figuring out if they want to become a juicer.

Roger Clemens, Manny Ramirez jokes... but nothing on SportsJournalists.com fave John David Villareal? A shame. Provably, demonstrably a shame.

Unless you're serving dozens of glasses of OJ a week, one of these for the average OJ-drinking kitchen is nice:

I'm lazy and hate the clean up so I go to this place:
