Maybe it's just me, but the comma placement lends itself to multiple interpretations of the sentence. Which I think is funny.

 

I thought the pause was in there for effect, too.

Three hrs on, half hr off, four shifts a day to deadline, which is Tuesday thanks to Canada Day. (I've overshot the word count, so I'll be spending a week or two cutting. (Gutting?)

By the way, the Sterling-Smallwood-Fidel deal is supposed to have been a big influence on the guy who made Roger and Me and whose name escapes me at this moment.
