  1. I'll admit, often when I'm searching for something Wiki is my first stop but never my last. It's just so much easier to navigate than other sites that I can quickly find what I'm looking for and then narrow my search from there on other sites.

I believe Brittanica actually has fact-checkers, and while probably not 100 percent accurate, has 100 percent accuracy as its goal, while contributors to Wikipedia may have other agendas as their priority or may just be plain stupid.

It's great to use in arguments. Another editor and I were in an argument over what the cartoon dog's name was (with the slow voice and baggy eyes). The answer of course was Droopy.

Well, shoot, 'beet, if you didn't know DROOPY already, I don't know if Wikipedia can help you. ;)

Does it have sudoku, sports news or porn? If not, then no.

I love that shit. All of the Wisconsin state highways are explained in great detail.

I don't have it bookmarked, but I am a fan of Wikipedia. I spent two hours reading about the Holocaust because I heard "Treblinka" in a song and wanted to know what it was.

Wikipedia, Wikitravel and Wikileaks. The latter should be a necessary resource for all journalists.

I love the hour long random Wikipedia surf. I'm an information junkie.
I think it's perfectly OK to use as a work tool for general info. I'm pretty sure if you want to look up what city hosted Super Bowl IV or something along those lines, you're safe.

The natural off-shoot of the random Wikipedia hunt is the random YouTube hunt.

It's great to find gems like this ...

  12. if you really want to waste time....go to lostpedia.org...if you're a fan of the show, you can get stuck there for hours (or maybe i'm really just a loser)
