Do You Applaud On Senior Day?

That's just as bad IMO.

Unless, of course, you were using sarcasm without the blue font.

 

Yeah. And if someone complains tell them that you clapped for Rival U. where your allegiances lie.

 

If he weren't (and you never quite know with grouchy Mizzou) it would be 1,000 times worse than politely clapping.

 

I've covered a lot of teams I wished I could boo. No, I never did it.

 

I roll my eyes and grumble under my breath about how much I hate Senior Day/Night.

 

I actually stand next to the player's parents, give the player a hug, thank him and hand him a rose.

Do I applaud? No. It's hard to applaud when both hands are wiping away tears.

Why would you applaud for the National Anthem? Stand at attention, salute or stand still, then go back to work.

 

I applaud the kid who sings or plays it.

I do not applaud the tape-recorded versions.

 

I'm torn on the applause discussion, but when writing the article, I would at least write a little blurb that "so-and-so" players were honored on Senior Day.

 

I'd applaud first.
