    DMN is the master of timing. They laid off their horse racing beat writer the week the Breeder's Cup was in the Metroplex.

    SockPuppet.... a little "bird" friend of mine who works for the FWST just emailed me this a.m. telling more more crap is in the works and soon...didn't elaborate, but my friend who has been in the sportswriting business a long time is figuring he's one of the next cuts and is looking for other work in the area. sounds like a major mess over there, guys.
