DirecTV journalist discount

I used to have DirecTV a few years back and got a journalist discount for the system because it helped me see sports teams from across the country on their sports pack. Anyone know if this still exists and if so, who to talk to at DirecTV about it?
    Thanks

I've never heard about that deal. But I will be looking into it.

Pretty sure it's gone the way of the dodo birds, dinosaurs, milk man, and fan friendly professional sports league.

I called them about a year ago to inquire about it.

They gave me the name of someone to talk to.

I called her extension, but she never answered the phone nor returned any messages.

    Sounds like a promising sign.

I emailed them about it tonight and a few minutes ago received what amounts to a boilerplate response. (I've been a D-TV customer since last August.) A more in-depth response was promised within the next 48 hours. If they shed any light on this promotion to me, I'll post on this thread.

You shouldn't have asked how big her breasts were before they transferred you.

I haven't seen that channel since I was 13. Good memories.

Never saw it. Just heard it. Picture always was scrambled.

(Hey, it was next to ESPN2. Sometimes the clicker button got stuck, and I accidentally clicked down one extra time.)
(Hey, I didn't mean it was sticky from other things. Just from, you know, stuff. Like sodapop.)
(Shit, let me stop coming up with excuses. I tried to watch the damn thing for free, K?)

I have the Journalism Discount -- I get every channel they offer (except the porn ones and the NFL/NBA/MLB packages) for $39.95 a month -- same price I've paid for going on 9 years now. It's even listed as "journalism rate" on my bill.

At the time, there was someone in the PR department who handled all the requests. You might want to try there.

But this was all back when Hughes owned it; now that it's Rupert-owned, you might not get anywhere.

I will admit to having watched the Spice channel the same way when in junior high. The sound was perfect and periodically you could see naked chicks.

As far as the journalist discount, do you get the premium channels as well?
