Isn't she the one who drank Coke and ate Pop Rocks and exploded?

    Oh wait, that was Mikey.

I thought it was extremely tacky.

    But that's just me.

If that's actually footage of her from the movie being used for this commercial, that's the most disgusting ad in the history of television.

How about Fred Astaire dancing with a vacuum cleaner?

I am definitely no horror fan, but I've known about Heather O'Rourke's death since it happened.

I didn't know her name, but I did know the actress involved with that movie died...

And there was major outrage over that. Personally, I don't believe that buying the image of a man who lived a full life was that big a deal. Using the ghost of a little girl who died during the filming of one of the sequels to the movie being used in the commercial (though the death was unrelated to filming) is extremely poor taste.

Not as sick as the Jim Henson credit card commercial.

Mikey, Poltergeist was a movie released in 1982. There were some tragic deaths associated with the movie. In addition to Heather O'Rourke's death from intestinal stenosis, Dominique Dunne, another actress in the original movie, was murdered by her boyfriend while rehearsing for the miniseries "V."

Is that one part of kind of montage of the old AMEX commercials? That one doesn't bother me as much as this Poltergeist ad, which they could had done without. Pretty tacky, indeed.

What about the reanimated Orville Redenbacher, which was just ... well, evil. :)
