    Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Athletics is accepting applications for the position of Director of Ticket Operations. The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will include: oversee all ticket sales campaigns for the Athletic Department – men’s basketball and all other varsity sports; develop and implement ticket sales plan to grow season tickets sales; develop and implement group ticket sales plan to increase attendance at all ticketed sports; maintain a system of internal and external controls within the ticket office to ensure proper accounting and auditing procedures are followed; maintain accurate records in compliance with University, State, CAA and NCAA standard policies and procedures; develop and implement a system to promote impeccable customer service in every aspect of our ticket operation; supervision of all aspects of ticketing, including but not limited to, printing of tickets, and seat assignments and priority seating procedures in conjunction with the Athletic Advancement staff; ensure that the ticket operation works in full compliance with the policies of VCU Athletics, The Colonial Athletic Association and the NCAA; oversee the management of the Athletic Department customer database; oversee the deposit of revenues and gifts to the Athletic Department and monitor accounts receivable and all related reporting; supervise the Assistant Ticket Manager as well as hourly workers and interns; oversee game management for a yet to be determined sport; assist in development and implementation of marketing plans to increase attendance and revenues for athletic events; assist in the marketing of special events in conjunction with the Siegel Center staff; and additional duties as assigned. Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred. Paciolan ticketing system experience preferred. Ticketmaster ticketing experience preferred. Minimum of two (2) years experience in a Division I ticket office required. Strong oral and written communications skills required.     If one is not female or minority, would they even get considered? Or is that part a done deal? (Yeah, I know how some universities are when it comes to that.)
