    Job title: Digital Writer

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Write and edit stories in a fast-paced, high volume environment for NFL.com's growing "Around the League" news team.
    • Provide concise analysis on a wide range of NFL stories, many times each day. Write what happened, and explain why it happened.
    • Create ideas for articles, running features, and other content for use on all NFL Media properties.
    • Participate in NFL Media properties like podcasts and NFL NOW video.
    • Monitor wire feeds, social media, and other outside sources to ensure the latest NFL news is represented on NFL.com.
    • Execute stories and promotion by working with other NFL departments: video team, social media department, NFL Network, and editorial staff.
    • Work with NFL.com news desk to ensure all content is factually accurate, consistent with NFL.com's editorial policies, and presented well.
    • Demonstrate news judgment in writing, editing and story selection.
    • This is a contracted position.


    Skills / Qualifications

    • At least two years editorial experience as a sports writer, preferably in football and online medium.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Need many writing samples.
    • Exhibit deep institutional knowledge of the entire NFL from rosters to news flow to where to find stories.
    • Strong news judgment.
    • Willingness to work different hours, including weekends
    • Bachelor's degree preferred. Journalism degree a plus.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
    • Ability to self-start and multi-task.
