Digger Phelps...coolest f'n old dude on TV

Especially in that "sport".

 

Digger Phelps is anything but a cool old dude.
He is one of the most uptight, least humorous people alive.
This is ESPN's feeble attempt to make old tight ass look cool.

As far as his coaching goes, one of his star freshmen on the '78 Final Four team once said to me "We should have won a NCAA championship before we graduated but we never got better after our freshman year because Digger stopped being a coach and became a celebrity. His image was more important than us winning."

 

Wow. A player in his own program saw this. Thirty years later, Digger's weak attempt at becoming someone still carries on.
