Did the Wash Post really report Wooden died?

    A lot of it ... had early deadline anyway so newsies could get graduations in, so tossed out what baseball and briefs I had for Wooden.

    1A took the obit. Not sure how much they ran (haven't looked at the paper yet). We ran a short local sider along with the AP chronology and charts in sports.

    BTW, did everyone catch the error in the chronology? It had UCLA's NCAA tournament streak ending in 1973. That, I believe, was the year Walton shot 21-for-22 against Memphis. The streak actually ended in 1974, in the national semifinals against NC State.
