Prolific tweeter Rovell has not tweeted in over a week, since he appologized shortly after mocking an obese fan at a Bulls game:

They're making him take remedial math.

LOL. It was big news here when Bruce Feldman was suspended:

I find Rovell insufferable, but he has a big profile, and works for the largest sports media business. Twitter is his favorite forum. If he's been suspended from twitter by ESPN, that's news.

And, it's always funny when ESPN refuses to comment.

    Nonstory.

And when Feldman was suspended, the circumstance surrounding it warranted it. Because it was ridiculous. This, not so much.

Non story for the public at large maybe.

    But it is a story.

He's obviously suspended. And, ESPN won't admit it.

I always think it's funny when they want to punish someone, but not publicly admit to it.

    Story for who, journalists?

As a journalist, who cares? He said something stupid on Twitter. He gets suspended.

He's virtually a nonfactor at the AWWL.

It's very much a story if he got suspended.

From ESPN, sure. From Twitter? Zzzzzzzz.

It's a disciplinary action against a high-profile writer who is especially known for his use of the #1 social media platform in news. It's not a Sterling-esque story, but it's a story.

Acting like people don't care about reporters and the inner workings of news organizations is just being blind to 21st-century reality.

    Thank you.

Rovell is annoying, but he has a big profile on twitter, and his absence is noticeable

I'm not sure how often he gets on camera on the mothership, or if he has any standing appearances, so I'm not sure his absence there would be as noticeable. Has he been on the air since his last tweet? Does anyone know? Maybe he has been suspended from ESPN too.
