    Question: Why was this thread started in the first place?

    Seriously, you could do this to/with everybody here if you wanted and tried, and it just seems low, kind of beneath us when there doesn't seem to be a particular reason for it.

    I assumed it was a riff on DW's constant posting of HOF threads. All in good fun (mostly).

    I just thought it was getting a little unnecessarily mean-spirited and distasteful, though.

    I have been on here since about 2009/2010 and I read about legend of JDV from time to time. Never saw the original post until last night. Wow. Just wow. Ended up googling him out of curiosity and am kicking myself because he is apparently selling cars in Austin. I was in Austin two weeks ago. I wish I could have met him.
