I'm more curious to hear what the dozens of members, each an HOFer, who pm him on all these topics, have to say.

Usually I shun new posters, but since Earth Day is coming up and you are Earthman I will try to show kindness toward all. This place has been around long enough that many remember when people bought and read newspapers. Click on some user names and you can see how long some have been posting.

Funny thread, right from the first reply.

I'm somewhat sorry to bring seriousness into this thread, but I do give the guy credit for the amount of content he brings to the site. While I may roll my eyes at his various incarnations--sanctimonious Dick, passive aggressive Dick, arrogant Dick, deep thinking Dick, etc. etc., he's clearly a straw that stirs the sj.com drink these days with the amount of discussions he initiates.

Sorry for the interlude--back to the inanity. I'm off to send PMs to some highly respected members.

He's a much better thread starter than I am.

Thread starting is the new post padding.

Meh - BYH was nothing but a compiler.

Now, BYH 2 - Electric Boogaloo has the tools to become an all-time great.

In your short time here you probably haven't encountered any Boom_70 posts, either.

P.S. Anyone know what a krugerrand is worth these days?

Not a prominent poster, so this will have to suffice: Baron, we appreciate your sacrifice.

JDV was a revelation who, unfortunately, doesn't come 'round these parts anymore. He is the greatest poster/thread starter in this site's history, without question. Just seeing his initials pop up made me want to jump back and enjoy his brilliance. And now you can, too:

Mark McGwire scoop coming + info & opinions (READ)!!
