No. If it was a city desk job, maybe. But the sports editor probably isn't too involved with the trapped miners story.

I think the fact it's only 10 days since the job was posted is more pertinent to why someone might not have received a reply or interview yet.

 

Isn't Anastasi involved in more than just the sports department?

 

In short, yes. He oversees features, photo and the news copy desk. And probably the delivery trucks. And ink purchases. And so forth.

 

This was posted a month ago. Has anybody heard anything on this?

 

They filled the position last week. I don't know who they hired.

I wonder if this is the same Jon Clifford who worked in Palm Beach for a short time in the late-90s. If so, VERY good people.

Believe it was Joe Whetham, formerly of The Forum in Fargo (his departure is why the position there was open).

 

Can confirm it is Mr. Whetham of Fargo fame.
