First of all, I'd like to thank all the applicants who took the time to send in their resume and portfolio.

I was notified this morning that management -- bean counters/non-newspaper folk -- has decided to freeze the position. Permanently? I don't know.

That's all I can say publicly. I've never had a problem with my identity being known, but I'm afraid with the way axes are being wielded in this business, who knows when my name will be next.
