Derrick Rose to have surgery for meniscus tear

    He should have stayed at Memphis for three more years so he'd have something to fall back on.

    The kid will be fine once this is fixed. He has a lion's heart. Remember how he came back so quickly from the ACL? Remember how he came back so quickly from the last meniscus tear?

    OK, all joking aside, this doesn't have to be all that bad. This isn't the knee that had the ACL, and they did the long-term outlook surgery on the meniscus on this knee two years ago. If it's a small tear that they can just snip off, he could be back in 4 weeks and he should be a lot better than he was while playing with pain.

    The best Rose can hope for is a Grant Hill career: Prime years ruined by injuries, but a relatively healthy second half as a role veteran.
