    But Omar Visquel was twice the shortstop Jeter could ever hope to be.

    SI.com's Joe Sheehan, a self-described Yankee fan, made the point in his newsletter that if the Yankees had moved Jeter to center field and Bernie Williams to left and let A-Rod play shortstop when they signed traded for him in 2004, they might have won a couple of more championships.

    I'm guessing the Hall folks and the Cooperstown business interests will be happy with back-to-back years featuring big crowds of Yankee fans.

    They should reinstate A-Rod for the last week of the season so he and Jeter can go into the Hall of Fame together.
