    Description

    job #13-090



    Purpose of Position: Edits and assigns digital, daily, Sunday and long-term Sports stories. Works with writers to develop stories. Coordinates schedules. Coordinates special sections and coverage of events. Supervises use of news hole and story budgets. Substitutes for Sports Editor, as needed.


    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

    Excellent editing and story development skills
    Excellent news judgment
    Ability to respond quickly to changing events on deadline
    Play a leadership role in the newsroom
    Knowledge of CCI or similar newspaper publishing system
    At least five years of experience at a metro paper
