    Anybody know what the situation is like here? What kind of job did Scott Reed do, what's Jean Lenti Ponsetto like, etc.?

    Director of Sports Information and Media Relations

    General Summary:

    In accordance with the mission of the Department of Athletics, this position manages the sports information and media relations functions of the department within the guidelines of the NCAA, the BIG EAST Conference, and DePaul University.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage all aspects of the Athletic Department's Sports Information and Media Relations office. • Serve as the primary media contact for the DePaul Men's Basketball program. This includes design, production and distribution of the media guide, writing and distributing press releases, web-site maintenance, statistical recordkeeping, fielding media requests and promoting awareness of the program to the local and national media outlets. • Oversee design, production, and distribution of all media based publications. Oversee the design and maintenance of the Athletic Department website. • Serve as liaison with local and national media in all Athletic Department matters. Communicate with media on a regular basis to promote greater awareness of DePaul Athletics locally and nationally. • Oversee the data collection, production and dissemination of all press releases and media advisories pertaining to the Athletic Department. • Knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA rules, policies and procedures pertaining to the sports information and media relations function of the department. Attend and participate in monthly NCAA rules compliance meetings. • Serve on senior staff of the Athletic Department which involves strategic planning for the department, representing the department at athletics, fundraising and other events, game day management and other administrative functions. • Supervise two full time direct reports and three to five student assistants/interns. • Responsible for operating the Sports Information and Media Relations office within the allocated budget. • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements
    • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred. • 5 - 10 years related experience, preferably at the NCAA Division I level. • Working knowledge of MicroSoft Office. • Working knowledge of current graphic design software. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Dedication to serving the department, the University and the student-athletes with the highest level of leadership, initiative and integrity. • Position requires working evening and weekend hours as needed during the school year, with occasional travel.

    Jerry's a good guy. How much longer does he have there?

    My guess is the job pays in the low 60s.

    I think Jerry will have to show tremendous progress this season if he hopes to be around for another. The fans and alumni, though they respect him as a person, hate him as a coach. And rightfully so. he's been a disaster.

    Still, a great guy.
