Death penalty for a non-murder

There's an inmate in Louisiana who's facing the death penalty while not actually having committed a murder. Louisiana state law allows for the death penalty in cases of aggravated rape of a child under the age of 12.

The inmate in question raped an 8-year-old Girl Scout.

As much as that kind of thing sickens me, it's a tough call for the death penalty in those cases. Any thoughts?

    And yes, I know...

This thread will not end well. Too bad.

I think they should let a bull take care of this one at the rodeo.

Pedophiles and people involved with child porn should immediately be executed after their last appeal is heard.

Have no problem with this at all. Drawn and quarted, castration with a dull razor, anything they want to do is fine with me.

    Life without parole.
For reasons that are very understandable, there is no way anyone who commits this type of crime would ever be given a fair chance to lead a normal, productive life if they're ever let out of prison. Given the seriousness of this type of offense and how society feels about it, they should never see the outside of a prison ever.

The fucker is lucky. The kid's parents should've put him out of his misery long ago.

Raping an 8 year old? I find it hard to justify why someone like that deserves to draw even one more breath on this earth.

I wrestle with death penalty stuff and I wouldn't she any tears if they ended that guy or many like him.

I think chemical castration should be mandatory (with parameters of course) in child sex cases. I don't know how effective this is in preventing future behaviour, but it seems like a good start.

Castration is too nice. They shoot horses don't they?

The problem with that is while it removes the physical ability to commit the acts it doesn't remove the desire. If ever released, the person would probobly find other ways to carry out similar acts.

    As for the original question.

I hope he fries and I wish someone would torture him first.
