    I don't think that I've ever read a more perfect lede. Pretty amazing thinking about the
    likelihood that it was done on a typewriter in a noisy pressbox with a deadline looming.

    Yeah, doesn't he know you're supposed to get the most important news in the first five grafs? At least, that's what the Gannett honchos told us.

    And besides, as those honchos also said, he wrote longer than 6 inches. Nobody is going to read all that.
