    Inspired to post again in the wake of their announcement of what is kind of a "WTF?!?!!?" festival in Atlantic City:

    At the band's (spectacular) 30th anniversary shows last December, they played some songs that didn't quite make the album. Just released as an EP. One is sort of blah (and has a familiar riff), another is OK, another is pretty good (at least lyrically), and one is a song that is a small lyrical change or two away from being maybe the best thing they've done since 1988.

    I thought Death Magnetic was pretty damn solid. I love the piano intro on Unforgiven III, but I love every Unforgiven. DM reminded me of Load/Reload.
