Maybe Fox is putting out a new album, or something like that? You know, gotta get in that cross-promotional stuff for the twits who will buy anything.

Oh, and Aguilera can take a lesson from this guy:

I posted this to a friend on Facebook and I stand by it:

As an anthem singer, there are several rules, IMO:
    1. The anthem shouldn't take more than one minute
    2. The anthem is not an American Idol audition
    3. You don't yell "Thank you" at the end.

The anthem is about the song, NOT the singer.

I did not list "know the damn words" because it seemed evident to me. Apparently, I'm wrong about that.

Aguilera grew up in Pittsburgh. She has sung the National Anthem at many Pirates/Steelers/Penguins games, including the Stanley Cup Finals. She set the tone for the night for Pittsburgh.

Yeah, I agree. She's not exactly Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson. She's legit.

    She still fucked up though.

Roy Biggins would have passed out.

Thinking about what's gone on recently in her personal life...

    Christina Auguilera
    Ben Roethlisberger
    Jerry Jones

It was a fairly karmic Super Bowl week.

Why do you national anthem signers never to to rush through the song?

I thought, for Christina, she kept it fairly reserved. I expected a 10-minute rendition. I cannot stomach singers -- this means you, too, Celine -- who try to impress you with their vocal gymnastics instead of just belting out the damn song.

I believe it was discovered after the fact that Whitney Houston lip-synched that one.

I like a band doing the anthem. And the Grambling or FAMU band would be a far better halftime show that that shlock they did yesterday.

If, somehow, you nail the Anthem, stay off the blow and don't let half-as-talented lackeys derail your potentially all-time great career

I thought Jennifer Hudson was great a couple years ago.

I thought that all the Anthems were lip-synched? Apparently now. If you had a recording that sounded like that, I would think they would have asked for a do-over, or at least a couple of versions and decide on the best one.
