What a bunch of heartless bitches and bastards you all are.

Dick, you can appear on Rockin New Year's Eve for as long as you want.

Kudos to him for appearing after his stroke.

It was so uncomfortable to watch. Guess what? Life is uncomfortable for many, and so what if their appearance on TV or in social settings makes us uncomfortable. God forbid we have to look at someone who isn't "hot" or is plain ugly or fat or has Down syndrome or Parkinson's or some horrible disfigurement beyond their control.

People who come into our line of vision aren't there simply for us to decide whether or not we'd "hit it," SportsJournalists.com. Sometimes they are there to challenge us, but mostly it's not about us at all. Yeah, I squirmed in my seat and wanted to change the channel, but that's my problem, not Dick Clark's.

I give him a lot of credit and admiration for going on TV.
The man has earned the right to say when it's time to go.

He officially looks OLD now. Surgery and hair color and good health only go so far.

But he apparently hasn't figured out when that is.
Look, the man was a professional TV host. He can't do it anymore.
It makes me uncomfortable to watch. The comparisons to Down's, etc and we should watch are just ridiculous.

You don't have to watch. Stay in your comfort zone if it makes you feel better.

It's not like he's hosting every show like he did in the 70s and 80s.
If Dick wants to do an hour on NYE, then God bless him.
We have a freelancer who talks like that because some punk beat the shit out of him, robbed him and left him for dead.
The guy, in his early 30s, uses a walker too.
I admire him for not letting his disabilities stop him from trying to go on with his life and I admire Dick Clark for doing the same.

Is this freelancer a professional broadcaster? There is a difference.

Guess what -- someone else had to OK him being on the TV. Someone else controls that broadcast, not Dick Clark. And apparently his superiors say it's OK for him to be on television.

I missed the Michigan blue in that one.

And guess what? No, it's his show, he OWNS it. He makes the decision.

Guess what? HIS SHOW DOES NOT HAVE TO BE BROADCAST! ABC makes the decision to put it on, not Dick Clark.
