Terry Taylor needs to call more people and screech at them.

Mentioned this in running football thread on Sports and News, but figured I'd give people on the desk tonight a heads up over here, too.
There's a major factual error in the Texans-Jags game story. It says it's the first time opposing players have each had 200 receiving yards in a game. It's not. Roy Williams (Lions) and Kevin Curtis (Eagles) did it in 2007.

Didn't see them send a corrected version on exchange yet, and I've seen it showing up in some headlines online. So, be careful out there folks.

Call AP and set the correction in motion. You'll feel good when you see it.

    - In the NFL Playoff Scenarios moved for Week 12, Tennessee is misspelled as "Tennesse" not once, but twice.

    - Not "Classfied" as opposed to Classified in Formula One results

    - "Winners" Average Time instead of Winner's Average time in auto racing results

And not that this is a screw-up as opposed to style, but why is NFL attendance listed as part of the scoring summary in an NFL boxscore as opposed to the end (like in a college basketball boxscore)?

If anyone is using this story "BC-Conference USA Expansion,3rd Ld-Writethru/870" which moved at 3:26 p.m. today, apparently Tulane has changed its name to Tulsa. Or the Big East changed its mind on which school it wants.

"The Big Ten started up realignment again Nov. 19 by luring Maryland from the Atlantic Coast Conference followed by Rutgers leaving the Big East a day later. The ACC replaced Maryland with Louisville on Wednesday. The Big East landed TULSA on Tuesday in all sports with East Carolina leaving Conference USA in football only."

In a matter of days, that sentence may be correct!

Anybody see any sign of the AP's Ravens-Redskins preview?

Just a heads up for you deskers: In the Big East basketball story about the seven schools forming their own conference, Ralph Russo calls Marquette the Warriors when quoting their coach.

One hell of an off day for AP's cameras at the Outback Bowl. One, count it, one photo of J. Clowney (and it's from the first half), and the game-winning touchdown pic is nothing but rear ends. Well done.

"The last time a Northwestern team had won in Columbus was Feb. 24, 1977 — when the original Star Wars was up for best picture and the Cincinnati Reds reigned as World Series champs."

Um...Star Wars came out in May, 1977. Hard to be the best picture before it was released.

    DERP!

I hate those types of pop-culture references. Including the Reds is a pretty clear sign of the writer's Ohioan background. You write for an international wire service; everyone has different cultural touchstones, but we all understand 36 years.
