    They're the old generation.

And they've got nothing to say ...

I guess he just asked, "What Am I Doin' Hanging Around?"

Seemed like the most genuinely nice of the four guys; well, he and Dolenz. Nesmith was a real piece of work, and Tork was a bit of a "hippie snob."

    RIP.

I have a feeling he and Micky were not prosperous, considering they had to keep hitting the nostalgia circuit. Lots of folks in that boat who did not have ownership of their careers. R.I.P to a guy who seemed to keep perspective

Remember that things fell apart for the lads after they refused to play Milli Vanilli for Don Kirshner. Their movie was a colossal bust, the album on which they finally did their own playing didn't sell.

    Nailed it.

When we first got a FOX station in the mid 80s one of the half dozen shows they broadcast was Monkees reruns. I loved em.

    RIP

They managed some good music after the TV show era was finished.

    This song is just incredible:

He played the Artful Dodger in the musical Oliver! and the cast performed on the same Ed Sullivan show on which the Beatles debuted.

Great bit of trivia: The night the Beatles debuted on Ed Sullivan, Davy Jones was also on the show -- in a magic act.

    RIP, Davy.
