Davy Jones has been dead a week, but Smasher doesn't like the thread title

Pete was technically the fifth member of the band, joining up before they left Liverpool for Hamburg.

So I guess Ringo would be the sixth Beatle.

Well, there had been a succession of drummers ("they were usually idiots," Lennon said) before Best.

Basically he hung on for a couple years because, a) he was probably somewhat better than most of the "idiots," and b) his mother owned a big-enough house to hold rehearsals and beer-party gigs.

George Martin, for all purposes, was the fifth Beatle. He appears on quite a few songs, particularly early on.

Preston was really no more the "fifth Beatle" than Clapton or Nicky Hopkins.

Just a little righteous snark for this thread title. I know there's a compulsion to make every title more clever than the one before it, but "Davy Jones Locker" refers to being at the bottom of the sea. Unless there's burial at sea planned for the former Monkees star, it doesn't really make any sense in this case.

    Fixed.

    (How's that for righteous snark?)

Now, Steak, don't go compounding the problem by mentioned that Bin Laden was buried in Davy Jones' locker.

I think it's awfully insensitive to point out to Davy Jones fans that he's been dead for a week.

Can David Bowie start using the name again?

Stepping Stone kicks ass. So does the primary song from Head.

    That's all I got.

Can someone deliver some Colonel Sanders down to Davy Jones' locker?
Or to Smasher? He needs some comfort food.

It bothered me, too, but I had the common decency to let Steak Snabler grieve in his own way. :D

Local woman met Davy Jones two-and-a-half weeks before he died.

It would have been better if they met at an Olive Garden.
