It's amazing how many of these corrupt politician stories come from Louisiana.

  2. Up until this year, that is.
I'd let anyone of these hypocritical Bible-and-hooker--banging frauds off the hook if just one of them used his public embarrassment actually to lobby for laws that made private conduct legal. Does Vitter think Vitter should have been arrested? If not, why not?

This is ollllllld news in Louisiana. Vitter was all set to run for the U.S. Senate in 2002, but dropped out at the last minute for "family reasons." The rampant speculation was that his name was in the black book of a French Quarter madam. That's why folks in the know here had a good chuckle over his 2004 campaign commercials that starred his children....and his comments that defending traditional marriage was the most important issue in America today.
It will be interesting to see how much of an issue this ends up being. Louisiana is becoming very Republican friendly and the Democrats have a thin bench. And we elected Edwin Edwards to a million terms as governor even though it was well known that he had quite a way with the ladies.

No they should start a thousands threads about it and then posts pictures of the titanic sinking and a dunce cap and act as if their side would never stoop so low.

  5. This is yet another reason why I love Louisiana.
Wasn't the previous rep from Vitter's old congressional district, Bob (Gettin' him some strange) Livingston?
    Whoo-hoo!

Yes, Vitter was elected to the House from Livingston's old district. It could have been a hell of a lot worse...Livingston kept the seat for several terms, because he was afraid if he retired, David Duke would run for it and get elected. Say what you will about Livingston and Vitter, but they aren't professional racists and they've never been photographed wearing a swastika.

  7. Well, you've gotta set the bar somewhere.
    Is Edwin still with us?

    More fun.

Fenian -- When are you going to start a thread about Cindy Sheehan calling out Nancy Pelosi complete with your version of what it actually means?

Oh that's right, in your world, Cindy Sheehan is probably now a grandstanding asshole because her over-the-top self-promoting silliness has turned its attention to a liberal politician......

Edwards is in a federal pen for taking bribes for casino licenses. He was indicted about a million times and the feds finally got him. Think he's got five more years to go...sadly for him, the pen is keeping him from a good-looking wife about half his age.

  10. No. She's someone dissatisfied with a politician who chooses to run against said politician.
    Gee. What a fucking concept.
    Tool.

And in keeping with his overall genius in personnel decisions -- coughBernie Kerikcough, coughtheRavenelscough -- guess who was Rudy's man in LA.

I think Pelosi's got a little Macchiavelli in her.
She gets banged on all the time as a liberal, right? That won't be happening with Sheehan opposing her. Is there anything that would benefit Pelosi more politically in Washington than being attacked from the left?
Anybody else think the Pelosi and Sheehan camps have been talking?
