David Simon: Time for NYT, WaPo to Start Charging

    25%? Interesting. Those who are optimistic think when papers start charging - and I have no doubt it will happen in the next couple of months - they'll retain 10% of their audience. Pessimists, like me :), think it will be in the low-to-mid single digits.

    Remember, in my example, I only suggested charging for select content (in this case men's basketball and football for a Big Ten university). I'm sure the page views would drop by a much larger percentage if you asked people to pay for everything.
