"Young and vibrant" and Jimmy Page is there?

Jimmy Page hasn't been young and vibrant since the '70s.

And those international fixtures are set many months, if not years, ahead of the MLS schedule.

Assume I was joking that Donovan wasn't there?? Or assume I was joking that that MLS is meaningless??
Don't assume, because I wasn't joking about either.

If you honestly think MLS is meaningless, you aren't paying attention.

The game you're dismissing was England's last opportunity to see its team in one piece before it begins to compete in World Cup qualifying for 2010.
Given that England came up one goal short of qualifying for Euro 2008, and given that its first game in this qualifying round will be on the road at Croatia -- interstingly enough, the team whose 3-2 win at Wembley kept England out of hte Euros -- I would venture to say that this particular friendly was not entirely meaningless.
But you tell yourself whatever allows you to sleep at night as a soccer-bashing doof.

I pay only enough attention to do my job properly. Other than that, this discussion is meaningless. You're never gonna sell me on soccer. I gave it a huge chance years ago, it failed, it hasn't gotten any better.

I'm fascinated to know how you gave it a huge chance. Honestly.

Obviously, I grew up in an area where is it part of the country's blood, and ingrained from an early age from pick-up games in the street to organized play. I'm always interested to get an understanding of how people here picked up the game, and why they think it succeeded or failed.
