One other thing. While I'm certainly not trying to make an argument for David Beckham as the best player ever (I don't watch enough European soccer to have a clue about his place in that game), the fact that he was a part of 10 league championships with four clubs -- and played a big role in those titles -- says a lot about Beckham the player. Clearly, the guy had something. I know a lot of people think he's overrated but he wasn't exactly chopped liver.

No doubt he had something ... he might have been the best ever at crossing the ball and swerving it on the set pieces. He was truly amazing. But as an overall player, there are many that have been better. Anyone who says he wasn't a great player hasn't seen him play very often.
