    Is he considered an African-American?

Since he was born in South Africa and is now an American, I guess he could be.

I just consider him a musician, though there are many here who would say he's not.

He turned 40 a couple weeks back. 40. This Gen-Xer paused to ponder that.

    When does he turn talented?

Some would say as soon as Brook Jacoby gets into the Baseball Hall of Fame without buying a ticket. Or as soon as the Browns win the Super Bowl make the playoffs.

But since I like his music, I wouldn't say such things. ;D

HA! Dave Matthews sucks the sweat off a dead man's balls. I don;t know what that means, but it sounds very negative to me.

Eh. It's not the number so much as how you feel. At least that's what I tell myself every birthday.

I happen to like his shit, personally. He's my favorite African-American artist.

Yes, he's African-American. That's why blacks should be called blacks and whites whites. Not all black people are from Africa.

This was covered extensively in my Black Social and Political Thought class where I was the only white male.

And Dave Matthews is awesome. If you think otherwise, you've likely only heard his radio stuff and never seen him live. He puts on an amazing show.

BUZZ! Dave Matthews is not black, but three of his band members are.

(Sorry ... misinterpreted the thread's intent.

Now Theresa Heinz Kerry ... THERE'S an African-American.)
