Outdoors, mine twists around, not indoors.

Why would a player make note of it with Pearlman if it is commonplace?

It wouldn't surprise me if the player in question was a well documented jackass.

Mine twists around simply by walking across a room.

Perhaps MLB ones are different. No idea. Never done an MLB game.

Nope. They twist around. Approximately half the time it's facing the right way and half the time it's facing the wrong way.

From my recollection, those lanyards always achieved the seemingly physically impossible feat of facing the wrong way no matter if you took it off your neck and turned it around.

Only way to have credentials around your neck that don't spin around would be to wear them on giant sandwich boards instead of lanyards. Which doesn't sound like a bad idea since some people think all we do is live for our next free sandwich.

Exactly. And those things are turned around the wrong way all the time. I'm not a big fan of Pearlman's, but I think that part is a bit of a reach.

    Son of a.

It was the movie "Grind." I think Clark had an ax to grind with Pearlman.

When Kevin Mitchell was on the A's, I asked him if he remembered the first home run he ever hit. He told me he never hit a home run. I said, "Really, never? Not one?" He said, "Nope. Go talk to the future of the franchise over there" and pointed at Ben Grieve.

    I'm over it now.

You should have followed up by asking if he was frustrated at having never hit a home run in his 12-year career.
