How was Briles supposed to know he was bringing a rapist on campus? Nothing I've read about this guy indicates he'd committed a rape before he arrived in Waco.

He was bringing a known woman-beater to campus.

Known to who? The guy's girlfriend in Boise testified she never told the police or BSU officials about his behavior.

Petersen told Briles the guy was depressed, prone to drinking, was in a dysfunctional relationship, missed team meetings, and punched a hole through a window.

Now, I would agree the guy is a piece of shit and there were enough red lights not to take him but there was no evidence at the time he was a rapist.

According to whom? Briles? Petersen says he "thoroughly apprised Coach Briles of the circumstances surrounding Sam's disciplinary record and dismissal."

Who cares what Briles says? He, his coaching staff and the school have been lying their asses off for a year and a half about this, and for God knows how long about all the other psychopaths they've brought in from other programs in that time.

"Please don't bring another rapist onto campus, Art, OK?" is about the only punishment they're doling out now that he's built the Bears into a contender and that stadium is up.

They're all highly religious so they'll look the other way on this.

That quote sounds like a cop-out to me. You can't rely on the District Attorney's office to spoon feed you the important cases. You have to periodically check docket lists, and if there's a computer database run names through it.

No arrest and the indictment being released under seal explain why local media wasn't on it immediately, but there had to have been multiple pre-trial court proceedings that would have shown up on a docket.

Wonder how many on that jury have season tickets.

"Sorry your vagina was ripped apart against it's will like BYM's resume when he sent it to the Plain Dealer but.... sic 'em, ya'll."

There's considerable question about what "thoroughly" means in the Petersen statement, but getting less play in this whole thing is the fact that Baylor reduced the accuser's scholarship amount. That's shameful.

Well of course. She's no longer a virgin in their eyes, so they consider her as dirty, and less worthy of scholarship money.

Ahem ... On another thread, you were asking about when you've been "holier than thou"? This would be an instance.

Oh, forgive me for not considering rape victims to be sluts.
