That's nearly exactly what I would have written.

Who in there right mind would take JR Smith. George Karl must have had a good chuckle when that hit the wires.

And NY fans think they're getting Phil Jackson.

One even mentioned Florida's Billy Donovan. Jeepers.

I think when Donovan bolted Florida for the Magic, then changed his mind after a few days, Jeremy Foley built some serious roadblocks to him taking an NBA job ... maybe a stiff buyout.

He's a regular season coach, even with a talented and fluid team like the Suns he was never going to be capable of leading them to a championship.

His coaching style is designed for the sprint, not the marathon.

They may have the best guy available in Woodson. He's not bad.

Seems to me that Owner Dolan is more concerned with filling the Garden every night than he is with on-court competence. If I am correct, maybe he will think to hire either Spike Lee or Whoopi Goldberg for next season. They would be entertaining - - at least.

Jackson will come -- it's the perfect end to his career and his homage to Red. The fans have always loved him and he will own the town. Especially in a year when the Nets are coming to the County of Kings.

D'Antoni did a horrible job. The team was ill-prepared on defense, had no consistency on offense and his players had long ago tuned him out. He's another guy who was made to look better by Steve Nash.

They need someone who cares about defense. Loopy will hate it, but all sane Knicks fans will love it.

But but they brought in Woodson as a defensive specialist.

And work for that nitwit Dolan? Why does he need that kind of grief?
