Daniel Day Lewis is Lincoln; No, Seriously

I've been pumped about this movie when I first heard about it in the Spring. Lincoln has fascinated me since childhood. On Monday night I watched There Will Be Blood and became more excited. Then I saw this picture the other day and I shot through the roof. He looks so much like President Lincoln.

This is going to be awesome.

 

I know there are a lot of Richmonders on the board more knowledgeable than me. What restaurant is DDL eating at in that picture?

Also, the Michael Phillips who took the picture is not the UVa beat guy from the RTD.

 

I watched a movie Robert Redford did about the Lincoln assassination called The Conspirator. (Check out your local Redbox) Great cast (Kevin Kline, James Medavoy..), great atmosphere, but the script was pretty dull.

 

Daniel Day Lewis is in it. *Of course* it will be awesome.

 

I think DDL will be fine as Lincoln. Sally Field, however, is something like 25 years older than Mary Todd Lincoln was at the time of the assassination.

 

He was dining at Arcadia in Shockoe Bottom. Luckily, there is no balcony in that establishment.

That is literally three blocks from where I live. How are all these movie stars in Shockoe Bottom and Church Hill and I keep not seeing them?

 

Look for the Lincoln looking guy.
