It is rare that I listen to regular radio, but one of our local stations here today played "Dance the night away."

What is your favorite Van Halen song?

I love Dance the night away, and Jump as well.

Prediction for poindexter; Gotta be "Hot for Teacher"

I celebrate their entire catalog ... pre-Hagar only.

Some of the Van Hagar I like ... but it's a totally different group.

I remember "Fair Warning" being one of my first 8-track cassettes. I wore that sucker out playing it over and over again. I still think as a collection of music it's the second-best VH album of the DLR days, but not nearly as big a commercial success as VH I and II were. In fact, it pretty much was a flop by VH standards.

"Diver Down" was more commercial but sucked donkey balls IMO, and "1984" was a fine return to form.

I need more time to think of a good Van Halen or Van Hagar song.

    "Right Now"

If I have to go with a DLR-era track, I'll take "Panama," edging out "Hot For Teacher" and "Me Wise Magic."
  6. FYI, Eddie Van Halen's entrance to his wedding last month(?) was "When it's Love" Hagar, I doubt, was invited to sing it live.

Gotta kick it old school with Running With the Devil. And am I in the wilderness by liking the Women and Children First album?

For sheer shreddery (that's a word now!), Unchained.

The best package of song and video, though, is easily Hot For Teacher.

Ditto, Sam. "Right Now" gets the nod here.

They actually exist? I keed, I keed.

Right now, my favorite pre-Hagar song is "Panama." I kinda like "Right Now" from the Hagar era.

You're not alone on Women and Children First. In fact, Everybody Wants Some is a definite consideration for my nominee for this thread.

Also like Finish What Ya Started--has a nice funk to it.

But, when push comes to shove, I think I'd have to go with the thread title as my fave--just a damn good pop song.
