I took him end of fifth/ beginning of the sixth when I got the ass end of the snake draft in the 10-team money league last night.

I said I'd take either him or Papelbon there if they made it, and both did, so I took both.

He went for $31 in my 10-team AL-only auction yesterday.

    What's your total budget?

    $260 for 14 batters and 9 pitchers

He went late second round in mine, but we have three keepers so really it would have been in the 4th or 5th round.

    That's fairly steep, then.

I'd guess he's going to go relatively high in any future fantasy drafts...

    other top pitchers numbers:
    J. Santana, $37
    Bonderman, $24
    King Felix, $22
    Bedard, $21
    Harden, $22
    Halladay, $32
    Lackey, $24

Damn, roughly the same as Doc Halladay.

I realize Halladay doesn't strike THAT many people out, but I always feel like he gets undervalued in fantasy drafts. He's an innings eating machine.

Honestly, we're in New England and I expected Matsuzaka to go for even more. Also thought Santana and Halladay would go for more, too, though.

And set off a chorus of groans & expletives. I'd have taken him had he made it back, as would a number of those who picked before me.

I remember more people questioning Matsuzaka's impact than cursing the pick (yes, I'm in the league with Zeke and Guy). That made me feel better since I was the last guy to pass on him.

That said, he's pretty much a top-50 pick at worst these days, and climbing with every dominant performance.
